"If men are to be precluded from offering their sentiments on a matter which may involve the most serious and alarming consequences that can invite the consideration of mankind, reason is of no use to us; the freedom of speech may be taken away, and dumb and silent we may be led, like sheep to the slaughter." George Washington

Common Sense was a book written by Thomas Paine. It was first published anonymously on January 10, 1776, during the American Revolution. One could say that Thomas used his freedom of expression to unite a colony against those that were oppressing it. His message was revolutionary and considered traitorous by the British govt. He begged his fellow colonists to understand the difference in society and government rule.
Society, according to Paine, is everything constructive and good that people join together to accomplish. Government has its origins in the evil of man and is therefore a necessary evil at best. Paine says that government's sole purpose is to protect life, liberty and property, NOT to control the flow of information or hide the truth. It is imperative that we learn from the past and win back our right to free speech so that we are not led blind and dumb like sheep to the slaughter. The members of the US government are elected by the people and are representatives of the people. They have no right to manipulate the news and keep secrets from the people. The problem is they stopped representing the people a long time ago.
It matters not the color of our skin, or the god we pray to, or the country of our birth, we all deserve the right of freedom of expression. This blog is dedicated to passing the transparent truth from it's source, to the people that have no media outlet to receive it. The authorities hide the atrocities they commit and the laws they break by oppressing their constituents without them even knowing it. So while your face is buried in your android phone, or the online game you play, or the sporting event on TV, your elected officials are striping your rights and covering up the truth. Wake up and learn the truth, but most importantly practice your right to free speech.
Help stop the oppression by exercising your right of freedom of expression. This is the first blog of many regarding 1st Amendment rights and the attempted oppression of free speech by the authorities.
